Cableyoyo

Cableyoyo

Have you ever noticed how all those small cords supplied with your electronic equipment come in six-foot lengths (1.8m)? Probably six times what you actually need for connecting your laptop to your favorite device! And the result; a massive messy knotted tangle. Sometimes even damage.

iPod messy cables

Well, this issue was bugging us enough to design, patent and produce the simple and efficient Cableyoyo.

Cableyoyo is an empty spool around which you wrap your existing cord. It will take any cord up to 5mm in diameter, and this covers all low voltage chargers, USB, firewire, data and telephone cables.

Stack

The Cableyoyo’s cool design is ultra-thin so the cord cannot overlap when coiled. This neat coiling ensures that you can pack the most cord into the smallest amount of space and still keep it truly untangled and untwisted when extended. The ultra thin design also means it packs easily into those narrow pockets in a laptop bag or your pocket, with little bulging.

Fit your pocket

Two small inbuilt clasps hold the cord at just the right length when you have finished coiling.
Unwinding is simple. Put your thumb and index finger in the center hole and just pull the end of the cord.

Clasps

Another great feature of Cableyoyo is that it comes with an adhesive spindle.
Stick this, say, to the back of your screen, and then you can snap on and off the Cableyoyo whenever you wish. You can even stack them two-up by fixing the spindle to one of the Cableyoyos. A good way to keep your cables always together.

Adhesive

And finally, Cableyoyo is sold in three great stealth colors, black, white and silver to match your electronics. Get one for each cable, and then get some more for your friends. At $5, they make great gifts.

Before and After

Cableyoyo is shown below with a camera docking station. The six-foot cord is entirely wrapped inside the Cableyoyo which is then attached to the DC adapter with the adhesive spindle provided.

BeforeAfter

Attached behind an iMac, the Cableyoyo below is taking up the slack in an iPod cord. When traveling, take the Cableyoyo with you and fit it into a thin pocket while leaving the spindle in place for your return.
Cableyoyo can be attached to the side of a computer, behind a monitor, onto your hard drive etc... Almost any flat surface in fact

Cableyoyo

How It Works

Cableyoyo is sold without cord. It is designed for use with your cords, in particular, those permanently attached to products such as cell phone chargers and digital accessories. Cableyoyo spools wire manually. It winds and unwind easily - however, it does not automatically retract cord.

Coiling

COILING:
Set the cord across the front of the Cableyoyo and begin coiling by turning the cord around the center. Coil until the desired length is achieved, then use internal clasp to fix position.

Mounting

MOUNTING:
Use adhesive spindle to stick Cableyoyo to any nearby surface – behind your computer, on the wall, or under your table. Fasten Cableyoyo to the adhesive spindle. Push at center to remove Cableyoyo from the spindle. Cableyoyos maybe stacked several high or lined up to create a neat pack of cords.

PortabilityThe super slim design will fit in your back pocket or laptop bag without creating an annoying bulge.

"Great products, thanks for making them, and in white too! Would love to see something that allows you to put between your laptop and your lap to block all the heat/emf's. I like the Cool Feet, but would like more like a little laptop stand that blocks the heat. Also would love to see more cord management stuff from you guys, great design. - Trinette, San Rafael CA

"Neat, yes. Helpful, yes. Deceiving, perhaps. Perfect, not exactly.

The Cableyoyo is a nice way to keep unending cords tamed, however the phrase "yoyo" makes you think you are getting something with will ravel and unravel far more smoothly than this product. This does not mean, however, that I do not use it everyday. I just wonder sometimes what is worse, a large cable holder which takes up a surprising amount of space on my desk, or some loose cable I can push around." - Tiffany, Kalamazoo, MI
